The Sea Slug Census finished last Sunday. This is a quick reminder to everyone to upload your photos. You have until the end of the month for all your observations to be included in the 2025 report. @bigbluevanuatu @critter.spotter @turtlebaylodge. We have had some interesting finds this year - some of the usual suspects and some new ones. I wonder what the species count will be for 2025.....? ...

It is Sea Slug Census time again! We will be photographing nudibranchs and other sea slugs from 9th to 18th May. Anyone can take part - just upload your photos to iNaturalist and they will be included. Glad Dr Christina was able to assist and give advice to the vets at SPCA Fiji Islands to help this turtle. Adult females are the most precious life stage as they take so long to reach reproductive age. They are also the most vulnerable as the come to shore to lay their eggs. Best of luck to this turtle. Let’s hope she lives to contribute to the population of this threatened species. Turtles migrate across oceans and it take collaboration across jurisdictions to help conserve their populations. We are happy we can work with organisations across the Pacific to assist these majestic creatures. ...
